HE DOESN’T CARE
by Joanne Lowe July 3, 2006
“And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the
ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the
ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master,
carest thou not that we perish?”
Mark 4: 37, 38
King James Version
I have received many emails from people who said “Jesus doesn’t care
what happens to me or my family. If He really loves us, why does He let
our children and families suffer?” I think as Jesus was hanging on the
cross for us, God thought the same thing about us.
How it must have hurt God to not only know that His Son was dying, but
that He couldn’t even look at Him. God had to turn away from His Son
because God is holy and He can’t look on sin. That horrible day when
Jesus died for us on the cross He took all our sins on Him so that we
can be forgiven through His precious blood. He, who had never done
anything wrong in His life, had never sinned one time suffered a death
worse than anybody has or ever will suffer.
Today, God is still asking us why we don’t care about hurting Jesus. We
hurt Him when we ignore Him most of the day, and when we are cruel to
others. We weren’t there the day He died for us, but all of us are just
as guilty of killing Him when we reject Him and what He has told us to
do. Every time that we say something sarcastic to someone, we pound
another nail into the Heart of Jesus.
Do you care about Jesus today? Do you love Him? Have you given Him your
heart and your life? If not, don’t wait! You may not have another hour
to live. O’ that we would fall in love with Jesus and serve Him with all
our heart.
