IT STARTS WITH JESUS

“And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and
be not afraid. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man,
save Jesus only.”
Matthew 17: 7, 8
King James Version
I just saw a Gaither Homecoming show and it showed a family that has
traveled together for forty five years singing for Jesus. These dear
people leave the comfort of their home and sleep in a bus. They are
setting the example for their grandchildren.
If we want our children and grandchildren to love Jesus and serve Him,
then we must set the example for them. Our children need to see a united
family. They need to see mothers and dads hugging each other and saying
kind things to one another. They must see parents showing respect for
one another. We wonder why children are sometimes disrespectful; it is
because many times they haven’t seen their parents respect one another.
However, sometimes parents love Jesus and are kind and respectful to
each other and the children still become disrespectful. It is then that
we need to ask Jesus to protect our children and save them. We must have
strong families if we want to make Jesus happy. To have strong families,
it has to start in the heart.
Every person needs to come to the place where they lift up their eyes
and see Jesus only. We will never be able to effectively love others to
Jesus unless we put Him first above everyone and everything. He deserves
first place in our lives and in our hearts. We must die to our own
selfish wants and live to please Him.
