OUR FAITHFUL SAVIOUR
by Joanne Lowe July 10, 2006
“So that we may boldly say, The
Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Jesus
Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Hebrews 13: 6, 8
King James Version
Have you ever dreaded going to see somebody because you never knew what
kind of mood the person was going to be in that day? Jesus never
changes. We can depend on Him to always love, comfort, encourage,
forgive and understand us. He is the same, yesterday, to day, and for
ever. He rejoices with us when we are happy, and He cries with us when
we are hurting.
If we will stop worrying about what man is going to say or do to us and
concentrate on obeying God, we will have a lot less heartache and
turmoil in our lives. The Bible says that when our actions please God,
He makes our enemies to be at peace with us. (Proverbs 16:7 King James
Version) Why are we so concerned about what people think about us? Our
goal in life should be to make Jesus happy.
Jesus protects us today just as He did yesterday. He is our faithful
Saviour. He loves us today just as much as He did when He died on the
cross for our sins. When Jesus tells us something, we don’t have to
question Him or doubt if He means it. He tells us to trust Him for
everything, yet so often we fail to trust Him. How it must break the
heart of our Saviour to be doubted and questioned.
What kind of mood are you in when someone comes to see you? Do people
have to wonder if you will be loving and kind, or if you will be hateful
and critical to them? We should strive daily to love others with the
love of Jesus. Let’s be faithful to tell others about Jesus and His love
for them.
