PILLOW OF LOVE
by Joanne Lowe June 21, 2006
“When thou liest down, thou shalt
not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.”
Proverbs 3: 24
King James Version
I used to hate going to bed at night because I had insomnia. I could not
sleep no matter what I did and I even took sleeping pills off and on for
years. I would toss and turn and think about all kinds of negative
things. I was not serving Jesus at that time and my heart was not right
with Him. Once I asked Him to forgive me for the things that I was
saying and doing that made Him unhappy, a peace and joy flooded my
heart. Now, I have no trouble sleeping. In fact, I look forward to going
to bed because I put my head on a pillow of love.
Jesus is our pillow of Love. He gently and tenderly holds us close to
His Heart of Love. When He was here on earth, He didn’t have any place
comfortable to sleep. He Loves us so much that He gives us His pillow of
Love so that we may sleep safely in His arms. What a wonderful Saviour
we serve!
If you are having trouble sleeping at night, instead of counting sheep
and thinking about all the negative things of the day, talk to Jesus.
Start praising Him and singing to Him. He will fill you with a peace and
joy that you have never known. Tell Him how much you appreciate Him.
Start thanking Him for everything He has done for you. We could thank
Him for the rest of our lives and never name everything that He does for
us.
Do you have this precious pillow of Love in your heart? Do you have a
personal relationship with Jesus? Does just thinking about Him fill you
with an excitement and joy? We are Loved by the Master, Himself, and
that should fill us with awe and wonder.
