TOO BUSY
by Joanne Lowe July 2, 2006
“But seek ye first the kingdom of
God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take
thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil
thereof.”
Matthew 6: 33, 34
King James Version
Have you ever told someone “Don’t worry about it”? That is what Jesus is
telling us in these verses. He is saying we have enough problems today
without worrying about the problems of tomorrow. I used to be terrible
about worrying if I was going to have money to buy enough groceries. I’m
still in the same financial place that I was then, but it doesn’t bother
me anymore because I have fallen in love with Jesus. My only desire in
this world is to make Him happy.
There is a lady that I have known for over ten years and she only calls
me if I leave a message for her to call me. Someone said that she is too
busy and has too many responsibilities to call people. I submit to you
that Jesus was busier than anyone will ever be, yet He took the time to
talk to people. If Jesus could take time for us, how much more should we
take time for others.
If we will put Jesus first in our jobs, our families, and in our
friendships, He will take care of us. Sometimes we try to do things in
our own strength, and without Jesus we are powerless. It is like trying
to drive a car that doesn’t have any gas. Jesus is the fuel of our
lives. He is the one who gives the victory in every situation.
Are you too busy and you feel that you just don’t have the time to call
or write people? If so, ask Jesus if you need to rearrange your schedule
and your priorities. If we will put Jesus first in everything, He will
never fail us. He deserves to be happy.
