WATCHING YOUR LIFE
by Evelyn D. Putnam
I love to sit down beside you.
You inspire me every time.
You are elderly and worn now.
That surely is no crime.
I see each precious wrinkle.
I see the twinkle in your eye.
Your hair has turned to silver.
Thoughts of joy will make you cry.
Your Christian life inspires me.
You would not hurt another.
You have never said an unkind word.
You treat all as a sister or brother.
You portray Christ in all you do.
You bring no shame to Him.
I am thankful for your friendship.
You fill my thoughts to the brim.
