WHAT WILL YOU GIVE HIM
by Joanne Lowe June 26, 2006
“The four and twenty elders fall
down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for
ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art
worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast
created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Revelation 4: 10, 11
King James Version
There is a song with the words “must I go and empty handed be”. None of
us should go to Jesus empty handed. A lot of people think that they
can’t do anything; that they have no talents. I used to feel the same
way. I always wanted to sing for Jesus, but God did not give me a
professional singing voice. I sing a joyful noise to Him and it is music
in His ears. I used to get very upset with people who could sing and
wouldn’t do it.
We may not feel comfortable talking about Jesus. We may not feel
comfortable hugging people for Jesus, but all of us can smile for Jesus.
There is no such thing as a gloomy Christian. If Jesus lives in our
hearts, then we should be joyful. That doesn’t mean that we won’t have
heartaches and sorrows, but it does mean that others should still see
the Love of Jesus shining from us.
Jesus is worthy of our devotion, time, talents and everything that we
have because it all belongs to Him. The only thing that we can take with
us when we die is the Love of Jesus that we have extended to people.
This is what we can give to Jesus when we see Him face to face. We can
give Him the love that we had for our loved ones and the world.
What will you give Jesus when you see Him? When He looks at you, will
there be a look of happiness or a look of sadness on His face? Will you
break the Heart of our wonderful Saviour?
